The Salon is an opportunity to break bread with artists, writers, musicians, scientists and adventurers. ZATORSKI + ZATORSKI first began The Salon in 2007 from their Hoxton studio, creating a club where collaborations form and cultural innovators gather to feast upon new ideas.

Each Salon features a different group of artists/ performers/ academics presenting their work or ideas. December 2011 saw the first Salon to take place on board De Walvisch, with Richard Strange performing “The Grey Funnel Line” and Doug Fishbone delivering a performance slide lecture written especially for the arrival of De Walvisch celebrations.

Nominations for the Salon are put forward by existing Salon members, and each Salon is carefully composed with exciting collaboration and common or opposing interests in mind.

More information about some of the past Salon artists and contributors can be found here. Click on the links below to find out more about specific Salon events aboard the ship De Walvisch.
